We made it home from CT.  It was a great trip.  The kids had so much fun.  Trevor got to go skiing twice, we went to the Peabody Museum, had a crazy party with my crazy family, did a little shopping, I got hooked on BBC America, and survived the flights with no melt down or tantrums.  What more could one ask for?

That is my brother on the drums, my mom on bass, Trevor with the crazy wig and my cousin Ryan with the nut shaker thingy.  My mom's friend Arthur and my sis's boyfriend Chris are also playing.  We may be weird but at least we are entertaining!

So now we are settled back home for the most part.  Terry surprised me by painting the bathroom...two walls deep blue, two walls "mango madness" and the ceiling fire engine red.  *sigh*  What can you do?  I'll live with it for now since the boys love it.

I made cinnamon rolls the other day with a new recipe.  They came out pretty nice.  Very tasty but a denser texture.  They were yummy though.  I also found a lovely pyrex bowl at the antique store.  It's not in the best of condition but it has birds on it so I had to have it!  Yumminess and prettiness all in one!  =)

I've also been working on treats for Owen to give out at his Valentine's party.  I made chocolate covered marshmallow "lollipops" and peppermint cream hearts.  The mints I don't know that I'll make again.  The dough was annoying to work with but they did come out really cute.  (the marshmallows without sticks are for me...wouldn't want to waste all that leftover chocolate, right?)

I need to go pick up Trevor from his riding lesson.  But maybe I'll just have another marshmallow first...quality control!  =)

I suppose this is really just late resolutions!  Terry was at a meeting at church and they were discussing goals for this year and I thought that it might be a good idea for me to look at some different areas of my life and think about what I want to do.  I never want to be in a position where life is just "passing by" and I'm just along for the ride.  I want to be always trying to better myself, keep learning and create more.  So with that in mind, here are some things I've come up with to start with.

Personal:

• Exercise.  I have to.  I am so out of shape.  It's really sad.
• Keep up with my vitamins/supplements.  I don't know why I'm so lazy about this.
• Focus more on my singing.  Voice lessons?  At least spend time each day working on my range and flexibility.
• Spend one Saturday a month focusing myself spiritually and emotionally.  There are some neat options over at the Priory here.

Family:

• Move towards a diet of "whole foods".  I've gotten lazy on this.
• Work towards becoming as "waste free" as possible.  We've done really good in this area so far.  We are going to move to the small sized garbage can for our every other week pick up.
• Get the boys more involved in the kitchen more often.  This is totally my fault as I take on the "it gets done quicker and easier if I just do it myself" attitude much too often!

Friendship:

• Do more spontaneous gifts/cards/etc. I love doing this.  Message me your address and maybe you'll get something spontaneous sometime!  =)
• Let people love me.  I love very easily.  Those in my life are so important to me.  My issue is I have a very hard time accepting that someone could love me back and that I could be important to others.  This will probably be the hardest goal on my list.  Just thinking about it makes me a little queasy!
• Accept help when people offer.  I am sort of a control freak and I need to let go of that...maybe.  =)
